Community Service at RISD

RISD Community Service promotes increased connections between the campus and the greater local and global communities. In conjunction with CSI, the office supports leadership and engagement opportunities that extend out to the community.

The office facilitates and coordinates community service programs that are centered on the ideas of awareness, collaboration, action, learning, and development. Community Service supports large-scale events and programs like Alternative Spring Break, MLK Day of Service, and the Leadership and Community Engagement Fellowship.

RISD Community Service is also responsible for building and improving relationships with area non-profits and community organizations through student placement and ongoing communication. The overall goal of the Community Service Office at RISD is to connect the campus with the community in ways that will be relevant, impactful, mutually beneficial, and in line with the college's mission to "make lasting contributions to a global society.”
